Cancún is a travel destination specifically built by the Government of Mexico to attract tourism. ISAAC Conference Cancún is located in the “Zona Hotelera,” where the vast majority of tourists are located, on the Punta Cancún, which is on the edge of the Yucatán Peninsula. Cancún is well known for its nightlife, restaurants, shopping, hotels, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear waters.
Spanish is the official language of Cancún; however, those working in the tourism industry typically speak English, so communication in the main tourist spots isn't an issue. The official currency is the Mexican peso, but American dollars are also accepted everywhere in Cancún.
Day trips to Mayan ruins include UNESCO World Heritage Site Chichen Itza and, closer still, the pre-Columbian Mayan walled city of Tulum on the Caribbean Sea.
